Q&A

Q: What kind of yoga do you teach?

All of my teachings come from traditional Hatha Yoga, which uses the tools of: asana (yoga postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses), dharana (concentration techniques) and dhyana (meditation.) I use all of these tools in my classes to better help each student find mental/physical balance, presence and a sense of peace. In my classes we create a body-positive nurturing environment free of judgement.

Q: How long are the classes?

Yoga and meditation class times vary from 10 minutes to a full hour. To meet the needs of all students and accommodate their busy schedules -whether somebody needs a quick lunch break flow or meditation, or has the time to delve into a full-depth practice at the end of a long day I offer various class durations at various times of day.

Q: Where are in-person classes located?

Yogi Parks is a traveling Yoga and meditation teacher, in person classes are offered wherever he is located in the world and this changes periodically. Check the schedule to find a class near you. To get advanced notice of where Parks will be next, subscribe to the newsletter HERE.

Q: What are your Covid-19 precautions for in-person classes?

The safety of all students is absolutely paramount and Yogi Parks is committed to offering covid-safe in-person yoga and meditation classes.

Yogi Parks is fully vaccinated and regularly takes PCR Tests for Covid-19.

All in-person students must be fully vaccinated (two weeks after your second dose for two-dose vaccines, or two weeks after your only for single-dose vaccines). In-person class registrations require proof of vaccination at sign-up. Boosters are highly encouraged.

Students who have not been fully vaccinated have the option to take group and private classes virtually.

All spaces, Yoga props and mats are fully disinfected after each session.

Q: I have never done Yoga before, how should I start?

For all beginners, an introductory private session is highly encouraged. This will allow you to get truly individualized attention and build a solid foundation for your new practice. Of course, all of the Hatha Yoga Level 1 classes are designed for beginners and are where you should start if you’re new to yoga and want to jump right into class.

Q: What equipment do I need to start Yoga at home?

A Yoga mat, one or two yoga blocks (stacks of books are a great substitute), a yoga strap, a towel, and possibly a bottle of water are recommended.  All can be easily purchased online. If you need recommendations, please let me know!
